Itinerary
Here you can see the programme for the week.
You'll arrive in cosy Chipping Campden, where you'll spend the night before the tour begins tomorrow.
Hotel (example): Bantam Tea Rooms
The Cotswold Way starts at the Town Hall in the centre of Chipping Campden, one of the most charming of all the picturesque villages along the route. The route gradually climbs up to Dover's Hill (230m) overlooking the Vale of Evesham before continuing to Broadway Tower, the second highest point along the route at 312m. The route descends to the pretty village of Broadwaym before climbing back up to Shenberrow Hill and descending to the idyllic village of Stanton. On arrival in Stanton, you'll be picked up by a pre-paid taxi and taken to your accommodation in Toddington.
Hotel (example): New Forge House
The day starts with a short transfer back to Stanton. From Stanton, the path leads across meadows to the village of Church Stanway. The route then begins its ascent back to the top of the escarpment at Stumps Cross, from where it follows an old road for a while before reaching an old fort at Beckbury Camp, dating back to the Iron Age. The path then descends to Winchcombe, where the route follows the edge of Cleeve Common - the highest point on the trail at 330 metres. If the weather is bad or time is short, it's possible to take a shortcut from here and shorten some of the walk.
Hotel (example): Cleeve Hill House
This part of the route offers fine views down to the town of Cheltenham and across the Vale of Gloucester, which offers beautiful green landscapes. The path then descends to Dowdeswell Reservoir and then follows the escarpment to Severn Springs, Leckhampton Hill, eventually leading to Crickley Hill - a beautiful area rich in wildlife. From Crickley Hill, the route passes through forests before reaching Cooper's Hill and even more beautiful panoramic views. The route continues through idyllic woodland above Prinknash Abbey before eventually arriving at Painswick Beacon and descending steeply towards the village of Birdlip.
Hotel (example): Royal George
This part of the route crosses open countryside to Scottsquar Hill before entering the forest leading to the Haresfield Beacon nature reserve. The path then passes between the towns of Stroud and Stonehouse before crossing the Stroudwater Canal and entering King's Stanley. From King's Stanley it's a short transfer to the Frocester accommodation.
Hotel (example): The Frocester
The day starts with a short transfer back to King's Stanley from where you start by walking up a steep path to Pen Hill, where you'll be rewarded with great views. The route then continues through the beech forest until you reach Nympsfield Long Barrow, the remains of an ancient burial site dating back to the early Stone Age. Here there are stunning panoramic views from Coaley Peak on Frocester Hill. The path returns to the forest with many ups and downs before descending to the small market town of Dursley. After descending into the valley, the path climbs steeply again to Nibley Knoll and the stunning views from the Tyndale Monument. The path continues to cross the escarpment before descending to the ancient wool town of Wotton-under-Edge, located at the foot of the hill.
Hotel (example): Swan Hotel
After a steep climb out of Wotton, it's an easy walk through gently rolling countryside to the pretty little village of Little Sodbury. The road then crosses the parkland of Dodington House before entering the peaceful village of Tormarton.
Hotel (example): Crown at Tolldown
Today is your last day of hiking on the tour. You'll start with some easy hiking to Dyrham Park before gently ascending to the small village of Pennsylvania. From here the path gradually climbs to the top of Lansdown Hill. The path then follows the slope to Prospect Stile, from where there are fantastic views down to Bath. From here, descend to the magnificent city and finish at the Roman Baths.

Today you'll head back home - or you can grab an extra night or two in stunning Bath. It's highly recommended.
