We always choose accommodation based on certain criteria, and you can read about them here. This is a description of our starting point for selecting the accommodation we have chosen.

  • Nicer small family-run hotels and inns than large hotel chains
In our opinion, it's often in the small hotels that you really feel the local atmosphere. That's why we always go for accommodation in such a hotel. It's simply more cosy.
  • Service at the forefront
It matters how you are received and treated at an accommodation. The places we choose to use on our travels have friendly and personal service.
  • Good food
On hiking and cycling trips, it can sometimes be nice to just eat at the hotel. That's why we have the option of half-board on several of our tours, and we always aim to have chosen hotels that serve good food of the right quality when/if you don't want to find a restaurant.
  • You need to be able to relax
For us, it's important that the accommodation has such a cosy atmosphere that it's possible to lower your shoulders and relax properly. This depends on a number of factors, and it's very individual what's needed for this, but it always helps if, for example, there's a nice garden, a balcony in the room and a cosy terrace, etc.

The points mentioned above should be seen as the objective things we look for when choosing which hotels to use on our trips. It's not always possible to comply with all of them, and factors such as price, availability and location also play an important role in what we have chosen. Hopefully, you now have an idea of what we're looking for when we choose a hotel for you.
