About the route

You will cycle on cycle paths and side roads with very little traffic. Overall, the terrain is slightly hilly with several longer climbs as well. When entering and leaving a town and on short connecting stretches, expect slightly heavier traffic.

Itinerary

Here you can see the programme for the tour.

Take a walk through the historic centre and along the lake.

Hotel (exampel): Bonotto

You'll cycle through gently hilly terrain through the Lugana wine region to the banks of the Mincio River. This river leads you to the historic fortress complex of Peschiera and back to Lake Garda. For a few kilometres the cycle path runs directly along the lake shore and later takes you a little into the hinterland. Through orchards and Bardolino vineyards, you return to the shore, which you follow under shady pines all the way to the charming lakeside town of Garda.

Hotel (exampel): Astoria

You leave the bank in the direction of the Adige river valley. Here you enjoy once again the wonderful view of the lake and follow the cycle route through olive groves and vineyards. At the Adige cycle path you then continue leisurely northwards, always accompanied by countless fruit trees. Already at Mori you leave the river again and continue over Passo san Giovanni to Torbole or on to Riva. Shortly before you reach Lake Garda again, you can once more enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake and the Sarca Valley.

Hotel (exampel): Caravel

One of the largest rivers in Trentino is the Sarca. You follow it along a well-maintained cycle path from Torbole and into the valley as far as Pietramurata. The village is surrounded by the highest mountainsides on Lake Garda and offers stunning views. Enjoy the tranquillity of this natural park and visit the fortress of Arco before reaching the shores of Lake Garda again.

Hotel (exampel): Caravel

In the morning, a transfer will take you to Lake Ledro. You follow the same named valley to the next picturesque alpine lake. Lake Idro is your companion for a while. You will be delighted by its excellent water quality and its wonderful mountain panorama. Along the cycle path through the Val Sabbia valley, you then cycle steadily downhill until the mighty Lake Garda opens up before you again. In Salò, stroll along the flower-lined promenade and enjoy a delicious Gelato.

Hotel (exampel): Eden

The last stage takes you on slightly hilly terrain into the backcountry. Here the characteristic and historic wines of Lake Garda are pressed, such as Lugana, Chiaretto and Groppello. Once you have reached the starting point of your holiday, we recommend that you raise a glass of one of these types of wine and toast to a wonderful and eventful cycling holiday.

The journey is now over. You leave your hotel in the morning.
