Itinerary
Here you can see the programme for the tour.
You will meet a driver at Marrakech Airport who will take you directly to Imlil (1,740m / 5,708ft) in the Atlas Mountains, where you will check in to a charming local guesthouse. Here you can take a closer look at this lively Berber village, which is the typical starting point for trips in all directions in the Atlas Mountains.
After breakfast, the luggage will be loaded on the mules, and you will start the hike towards Tinerhourhine. During this walk, you will be passing the village Tamatert in the green valley as you approach the pass Tizi n'Tamatert (2,279m / 7,477ft). After having a nice lunch, the paths will bring you downhill towards Ouanesekra and Tamguist - two villages that have almost grown together in the bottom of the lush valley. You will stay overnight in a local guesthouse in the following village Tinerhourhine (1,600m / 5,249ft), which like other Berber villages is characterized by closely build mud-stone houses with colored iron doors. Take your time to explore the narrow winding alleyways.
The hike continues through Imnane valley, where the river cuts through the landscape. On the hillsides the path follows a network of watering canals, which are established to allow watering crops in the dry season. The green trees create a great contrast to the otherwise reddish-brown landscape in this area. You will cross the river by the Berber village Ikkiss (1,700m / 5,577ft) and from here find the path upwards past the cultivated terraces towards Tizi n'Aguersioual. You will enjoy your lunch in Matate on the other side of the valley, before continuing the last stretch through juniper forest to Aït Aïssa (1,800m / 5,905ft). Here you will spend the night in a local guesthouse.
From Aït Aïssa you will walk through the quiet and less visited Azzadene valley. Here the walnut trees thrive along the roaring river. The trail continues up towards Tizi Oussem (1,900m / 6,233ft), which offers sweeping views down into the valley. From here you will head in direction of Imlil, or if you are up for a little detour, you can walk past the highest waterfall in the Toubkal region - Ighouliden. On the path to Imlil you will cross the mountain pass Tizi Mzik at 2,400 m., which offers stunning views of the Atlas Mountains and the highest mountain of North Africa - Jebel Toubkal (4,167m / 13,671ft). From here the trail leads you downhill through the village of Mzik before arriving back in Imlil, from where you'll be driven to the surf camp, located in Tamraght just outside Agadir.

This journey has difficulty level 2
Grade 2
Easy hiking on reasonably good trails. The day walks will last 4-6 hours in hilly terrain. Anyone in good physical condition can participate. Your luggage will be transported and you only carry a light daypack. Requires comfortable footwear such as trekking shoes or hiking boots.
Read more about our grading system here.
It is possible to bring children on this trip, and if you do, we will provide extra mules so they have something to ride on if they get tired. Depending on the number of mules we have, it may be necessary for the children to take turns riding.
Because the children must be able to sit on a mule by themselves, we do not recommend bringing children under 6 years old.
Age:
0-5 years: Not recommended
6-11 years: x Euro
12+ years: Full price
Note: On our booking form, you can only select "adults," and the system cannot automatically calculate the child discount. Therefore, just write the details of the children's ages, birth dates, and any desired room arrangements in the message field when booking the trip. We will adjust the price accordingly afterward.
It is important to be aware that it is your own responsibility when you choose to bring children on the trips. You should check the descriptions of the difficulty levels and assess whether the specific trip is suitable for your child.
