Slovenia - Julian Alps and peaks

This varied hike goes along hilly ridges, along wonderful ridges and through lush green valleys. You cross the Julian Alps with the well-known Triglav massif and the highest Slovenian mountain with an altitude of 2,864 m. Again and again you come to cosy huts with authentic charm. The climate is really pleasant in this region, almost already Mediterranean. You hike through a diverse flora and alpine landscapes. Enjoy the breathtaking views on the panoramic terraces. A highlight of the tour is Lake Bohinj, which is framed by steep and rocky mountain peaks. On your hike, an interesting combination of mountains, villages and interesting towns like Bled await you.

More about the route
You walk along good mountain paths with wonderful views of the Julian Alps. In some places it is necessary to be sure-footed. You will cross a short section (approx. 20m) where you walk along a narrow path on a rocky cliff, with iron chains for support (see video below, fast forward to min. 02.03). We do not recommend this hike if you are afraid of heights. You should be able to manage daily hikes of 4 to 7 hours.
