Itinerary
On the first evening, take a charming walk through the historic heart of Passignano sul Trasimeno. From the elegant vantage point of the Rocca, look out from the large bell tower and enjoy breathtaking views of the sparkling lake below.
Hotel (example): Hotel Lido
The long Giro del Trasimeno route takes you over several hilltops high above the valley where you can enjoy spectacular views of the sparkling lake. In Magione, you can admire the impressive Maltese castle that served as a refuge for pilgrims on the Via Francigena in the Middle Ages. A beautiful train ride along the lake brings you back to Passignano.

The day starts with a train journey past Perugia to Bastia Umbra, where you begin your hike on the ‘green path’, Percorso Verde, along the Tescio River. Far above you lies the majestic city of Assisi, a destination for countless pilgrims on their way to the tomb of St Francis. At the old mill you enter the Sacred Forest, where a detour to the Third Paradise - an amazing work of art made from over 120 olive trees - is a must. Your journey will then take you up to the great religious monuments, culminating at the impressive Basilica of San Francesco.
Hotel (example): Hotel Dei Priori
Today's hike offers perhaps the most breathtaking part of the Franciscan Route, crossing the slopes of the 1,290 metre high Monte Subasio. Enjoy the lush, grassy ridges, ancient forest-like areas and magnificent views that make this a truly wonderful hiking experience. Soon you'll reach the enchanting town of Spello, known for its many churches and chapels decorated with magnificent Renaissance frescoes by the greatest painters. From there, take the train to Foligno, a historic town located directly on the ancient Roman road, Via Flaminia.
Hotel (example): Hotel La Bastiglia
Leaving Foligno, follow the Franciscan path, guided by Tao symbols on colourful markers. The path leads along the old Roman road, Via Flaminia, to the fortress of Sant'Eraclio. From there, Via Francigena leads you through olive groves and gentle hills, where Trevi - officially recognised as one of Italy's most beautiful villages - awaits high above. Relax in the Piazza and explore Villa Fabri, known for its magnificent ceiling frescoes.
Hotel (example): Hotel Albergo Ristorante Il Terziere
You start through the city gate and walk up and down through olive groves and pass the Franciscan hermitage on your way to the charming Campello with its characteristic white walls. The walk follows the Via Francigena towards Rome and leads you to the picturesque fortified village of Poreta. Here, a rewarding climb to the castle offers stunning views and a memorable experience. A short drive brings you to Spoleto, where you can use the unique underground escalators and lifts - a remarkable network of car-free transport systems - to reach the city centre.
Hotel (example): Hotel Dei Duchi
Known as the city of truffles, Spoleto is a paradise for gourmet lovers and connoisseurs of art and culture. As you wander, you'll cross enchanting shady paths leading to the peaceful hermitage of St Francis, perched high on Monte Luco. Enjoy the stunning Ponte delle Torri, an architectural marvel, and walk in Goethe's famous footsteps around the Rocca for panoramic views of the city. Treat yourself to a visit to the magnificent cathedral and savour exquisite truffle delicacies from the lush surrounding forests.

On this journey there is a discount for children and people sharing a room with "two fully paying adults". The amount of discount depends on age; thus:
Children under 5.99 years: free
Children between 6 and 11.99 years: 50% discount
Children between 12 - 14.99 years: 25% discount
People from 15 years and up: 10% discount
Example 1
You are 2 adults and 1 child. Here it's very simple because you're staying in the same room. The child gets a discount compared to the prices above.
Example 2
You are 2 adults and 2 children (aged 5 and 13). Here you have two options. If you want to stay in two double rooms, it will be full price for all participants. If you want to stay in the same room (e.g. a family room), then both children will get a discount (free and 25% discount respectively).
Example 3
You are 2 adults and 3 children (age: 7, 13 and 15). In this case, you will probably need two double rooms where the youngest child sleeps with the parents. Therefore, there will only be a discount for the youngest child aged 7, who will receive a 50% discount.
Example 4
You are 3 adults who want to sleep in the same double room. The extra adult will receive a 10% discount.
Please note
It is important that you understand that it is your own responsibility when you choose to bring children on the tours. You should check the descriptions of the difficulty levels and decide whether the specific tour is suitable for your child.
