Itinerary

Here you can see the programme for the week.

You arrive at your first hotel in Pontorson. The little village of Pontorson lies on the border between the two provinces Normandy and
Bretagne, about 9 km from the bay of Mont Saint-Michel.

Hotel (example): Hotel Montgomery***

Walk along the Couesnon river to the bay of Mont Saint-Michel. Cross pretty villages and visit a mill. Mont Saint-Michel is a fortified village situated on an island. On the top of a rock escarpment a monastery inhabited by a dozen monks is situated. You stay overnight on the mainland and can enjoy the special view over the Mont-Saint-Michel.

Hotel (example): Hotel Gabriel***

After crossing the marshes west of Couesnon river you leave the Normandy for the Bretagne. You walk through green undulating landscape, dotted with little houses and grazing cattle to the pretty villages Roz-sur-Couesnon and Sainte-Broladre. You will spend the night on the mainland. The half-timbered houses belong to the best maintained examples of the Bretagne.

Hotel (example): Hôtel de Bretagne***

The first interesting point of today is Mont-Dol with beautiful old church. Then you follow an oyster-park for several kilometres. The last 5 km to Cancale offer superb views across the bay. You stay overnight in a hotel on the port. Cancale enjoys the reputation of being the capital of oyster, „Huîtres“. It is said that the local oysters are the best and freshest – judge for yourself.

Hotel (example): Hotel Le Querrien

Today you hike to Grouin. It is very possible that you will see seals or dolphins on the way.
Along the way you can enjoy views of Île des Landes, a long deserted headland (now a bird sanctuary), the lighthouse, Îles Chausey, Granville on the Normandy coast and, on a clear day, you can see Mont Saint-Michel.
In the afternoon (you choose the time the day before) a private transfer will take you from the hotel in Cancale to Saint-Malo.

Hotel (example) Ibis Le Sillon***

You take the early morning ferry to St Helier, Jersey's capital. From the ferry it's just a short bus ride to the beautiful port town of Gorey, where you will spend the next two nights.
From here you start the hike to Rozel. The walk offers breathtaking panoramic views of the harbour, bay and sea. The higher you climb, the
the more beautiful the view. There are some intense climbs to overcome. The beautiful port of Rozel with its old granite houses invites for a lunch break.

Hotel (example): Hotel Dolphin**

Today is a slightly shorter trip. From your hotel on the Harbour, you go inland and walk around on of Jersey's large fresh water reservoir. A lovely trail though rural areas will take you to Grouville Parish church. A little further you will hit the coast for a superbe walk between the sea and the Royal Jersey Golf course. Once you get to Fort William you are almost home!

Hotel (example): Hotel Dolphin**

You decide how you want to spend the first half of the day before taking the ferry back to Saint-Melo. It's usually late afternoon or mid-evening when you arrive in Saint-Malo, where you check into your hotel.
