Itinerary
You'll arrive in Cairo, where you'll first start by organising your visa at the airport. Once you've cleared customs, you'll be met and driven to your first hotel.
You will be picked up at the hotel by your guide and driver who will drive you to the Pyramids. The guided tour takes approximately 3 hours, but this can be extended if you wish. When you feel you've seen enough, you'll be taken to a restaurant in Cairo for lunch and then driven all the way to Hurghada. The drive is by private car or minivan and takes approximately seven hours. You'll arrive at the resort in Hurghada late in the evening.
You arrived very late last night, so today there's no programme. Now it's just time to land in Hurghada and enjoy the heat.
After breakfast, it's time for the first day of diving. You will be picked up at the hotel at approximately 8:15 am, where you will be waiting in the hotel lobby. The trip to the marina takes place in a small van that drives past several hotels and picks up the guests who are joining the tour today.
At around 9am, the boat sets sail for the first dive spot of the day.
Small Giftun
On dives at Small Giftun you can encounter everything from majestic sea turtles and playful dolphins to lively schools of tropical fish and beautiful corals in every colour of the rainbow.
In addition to the real wildlife, Small Giftun also offers a number of exciting dive sites, including impressive walls, dramatic reef formations and exciting caves to explore.
The dive tour finishes at approximately 5pm, after which you will be driven back to the hotel.
Important: We have written this itinerary based on the assumption that you dive on certain days at certain sites and we describe the sites that are most often sailed out to. The reality is that where the boats go can vary from trip to trip - it can also be places other than those mentioned here. Ideally, you'll dive a new site every day, but there may be different conditions that mean you dive the same site multiple times. It could be weather, wind, currents, etc. It's entirely up to the captain of the boat where the day's diving will take place.
After breakfast, you will be picked up at the hotel and driven to the marina. Today's trip takes you to another of Hurghada's amazing dive spots.
Abu Ramada
Abu Ramada, also known as ‘The Aquarium’, is a popular dive centre located off the coast of Hurghada in the Red Sea. This dive centre is known for its amazing marine life and crystal clear waters that attract divers from all over the world.
The dive sites at Abu Ramada encompass a variety of terrains including beautiful coral, steep walls and sandy bottoms. The varied topography allows divers to explore different underwater landscapes and observe a diverse array of marine life.
While diving at Abu Ramada, divers can expect to see a rich biodiversity, including tropical fish species such as parrotfish, surgeonfish, angelfish and snappers. Majestic sea turtles are also common, and it's not uncommon to encounter rays, moray eels and barracudas.
Visibility at Abu Ramada is generally excellent, allowing divers to enjoy clear views and discover even the smallest details of the marine environment. Diving at Abu Ramada can be practised all year round, although certain seasons may be more popular with divers due to weather conditions.
The diving trip is finished at approximately 5pm, after which you will be driven back to the hotel.

Of course, the trip starts just like the other days, where you'll be picked up from the hotel at around 8:15 am after breakfast and driven to the marina. The boat leaves the quay and before you know it, you're back at a fantastic diving spot in Hurghada.
Erg Sabina
The dive sites at Erg Sabina encompass a variety of terrains including sand flats, coral gardens and reef formations. This variety allows divers to explore different underwater environments and observe a diverse array of marine life.
While diving at Erg Sabina, divers can expect to encounter an impressive biodiversity, including tropical fish species such as parrotfish, surgeonfish, angelfish and snappers. There is also the possibility of seeing larger pelagic species such as barracudas, tuna and rays. Majestic sea turtles are also common in the area.
Visibility at Erg Sabina is generally good, especially on clear days, allowing divers to enjoy the amazing underwater world and discover even the smallest details. Diving at Erg Sabina can be practiced all year round, but certain seasons may be more favourable due to weather and current conditions.
The diving trip ends at approximately 5pm, after which you will be driven back to the hotel.

You are not allowed to dive 24 hours before your flight. Therefore, there is no diving on this day. But that's okay, because there are plenty of other things to do. It could be a trip on Quad-bikes (arranged directly with our man in Egypt) or maybe a trip to Luxor (optional when you book the tour).
The week is over and it's time to head home. You'll be driven to the airport for your flight home.

Here are some of the questions we often get asked about this trip:
How does the diving on this trip work?
Every morning you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the boat. It is important to know that diving is mass tourism in Egypt and therefore there may be many other guests on the boats sharing the dive guides. The diving is finished around 17:00-17:30, after which you will be driven back to your hotel.
What is the equipment included, what is it like?
As mentioned, the equipment on the boats is used a lot and therefore the equipment included on the boats will often be worn. In addition, wetsuits can have holes and other imperfections - however, the water is so warm that a hole in a wetsuit is rarely a problem. That said, safety is good and the equipment works.
Can I experience wreck diving on the trip?
Yes, you can. It costs 30 euro per wreck dive. If you want this, please write it in the message box when you book the tour. We need to know how many dives you want. We can also take care of this after you have booked the trip.
Can I dive with nitrox?
Yes, you can. It costs 15 euro per dive. If you want this, please write it in the message box when you book the trip.
Children on the tour. Is this possible?
Yes, it is. Here are the prices for children sharing a room with two fully paying adults:
Children under 4 years old. Free of charge
Children between 4 and 12 years: 50% discount
Children between 12 and 18 years: Same price as adults
Note: Children must be at least 10 years old to dive.
Where the diving trips start from?
The boat departs from Hurghada.
How long are the days?
You will be picked up from the hotel between 8 and 9 am (the person who picks you up at the airport on arrival will give you the exact time). You should be back at the hotel between 16:00 and 17:00.
Can I have three dives in one day?
Yes, you can. It costs 15 euros per person per "extra dive day". The amount is paid locally. If you want three dives, please let us know the day before if possible - it can also be planned from home.
Which dive spots can we expect to dive at on the trip?
Exactly where the diving takes place varies depending on wind and weather. Here's a list of places we often visit:
- Small Giftun
- Big Giftun
- Abu Ramada
- Erg Sabina
- Fanous
- Sha'ab El Erg (Dolphin House)
Can I take the PADI Open Water course or PADI Advanced Open Water course on this trip?
Yes, you can. Regardless of which course you choose, it will cost extra. Please note that when you choose a course, the 10 dives are cancelled and replaced by the course. See the booking form.
What is the procedure for test dives?
If it's been more than six months since you've dived, the first dive of the trip (counting towards the 10 dives) will be a shorter test dive, where the guides make sure you remember how everything works.
It is possible to get a diving licence on this trip. In that case, please note that the included dives are cancelled and replaced by a 3-5 day PADI Open Water course, which includes 4 pool dives and 4 open water dives.
If you want to take a diving certificate on your trip, you can opt for it when you book.
Here you can read our guide to diving certification.
The course is divided into three phases
- Theory - You learn the basic principles of diving
- Confined Water dives - You'll make your first dives in a safe environment (e.g. a swimming pool or shallow water). You'll be trained in basic techniques.
- Open Water dives - You'll make your first four dives in the ocean. Here you use the techniques you learnt in the previous confined water dives.
Upon completion, you'll receive an official PADI Open Water certification that you can use to have amazing diving experiences for the rest of your life anywhere in the world.
In order to take the diving licence, you must have completed this document. The rule is that if you can answer no to everything on page 1, you do not need to see a doctor. If you can answer yes to something, then you need to see a doctor and the doctor needs to complete and sign page 2.
On this tour you will stay at Jasmin Palace Resort & Spa***** which is located by the beach. The hotel will be All Inclusive.
4-star hotel
When booking the trip, you can choose to downgrade the hotel to an "unspecified 4-star hotel", which will make the trip cheaper. The hotel will also be all inclusive. See the booking form.
All Inclusive at the hotel and on diving days, lunch is served on the boat. Drinks are also included.
Important: Even though you're staying at a 5-star resort, it's important to realise that All Inclusive buffets are "OK" food, but not great. This is the case in Egypt and everywhere else (we think).
Visas to Egypt are not included in the price of this trip. Visas are arranged at the airport, so make sure to bring € 30 per person for this.
We can also arrange visas for you. If you want us to do this, you can opt-in on the booking form.
We recommend taking out travel insurance that covers at least illness, accident, repatriation, lost holiday, luggage and liability. As a customer, you are responsible for taking out the necessary travel insurance to cover these costs.
Before taking out insurance, you should check whether you are already covered by travel or cancellation insurance through your home insurance company, credit card or similar - please note that there may be differences in insurance coverage.
