Difficulty level 2-3 with hikes between 4-6 hours per day. The surface is rocky in some places and the paths can be slippery in rainy weather. It is important to be sure-footed. The climbs in the Black Forest are very steep and require a generally good level of fitness.

Here you can see the programme for the week.
You arrive to the first hotel of your journey. After you have settled in your room you can explore your surroundings.
Hotel (example): Hotel Hochfirst
You walk through a quiet forest into the nature reserve Rotmeer. You traverse the Bärental and take a look at the Seebach waterfall. After that you hike steeply uphill. You reach the West Trail, which will take you along numerous small lakes to Hinterzarten.
Hotel (exampel): Haus am Bach
You leave Hinterzarten and walk up to the picturesque Feldsee. After a break at this idyllic location you follow a narrow path up to the Seehalde. Passing a small ski resort, on to a mountain inn on the Feldberg, where you will spend the night.
Hotel (exampel): Todtnauer Hütte
Today you will climb the Feldberg. The trail rises sharply, but after soon you will reach the top. From the highest point of the Black Forest, you can marvel at a wonderful panorama. After resting you continue to hike along the West Trail. The tour leads through quiet forests continually gentle downhill. Today's destination is the lively winter resort Todtnauberg.
Hotel (exampel): Hotel Herrihof
From the height down into the valley to Todtnau. From there you take the chairlift up to the Hasenhorn. After a short detour to the summit you hike past the Prägbachfällen to Bernau. Bernau is considered one of the most beautiful high valleys in the Black Forest. Again, you will spend the night in a cosy hotel.

Today one of the most beautiful stages of your walking week is on the agenda. You walk past a disused silver mine and hike along the Schluchtensteig for a while which will bring up the Krummenkreuz. From here you walk on forest trails down to Schluchsee. The path leads along the shore of the lake to the center of the health resort Schluchsee.

At the end of your hike a pleasent day awaits you. You ramble along the shore of Schluchsee into the small community Falkau. One last steep uphill and then you have reached your accommodation high above Titisee.

This tour is now over. During the morning you check out from the hotel. It is possible to book extra nights after the tour if you prefer.

The price is based upon two people sharing. It is also possible travel alone in a single room. Simply choose "1 person" in the booking form and it will automatically add the single room surcharge.
On this tour you will be on your own supplied with maps, route descriptions and luggage transfers. That means that your time is your own and you have plenty of time to enjoy the stages in your own pace.

When you book, we will start booking hotels and arranging all the practical details of the trip. This process typically takes 2-5 working days, but some bookings may take longer. If you are arranging your own transport, we recommend that you wait until we have confirmed your booking before arranging this.
Dates
If you can select the date in the tour calendar at the top of this page, this is a possible start date. We continually update the tours with sold-out dates, after which those dates will turn red and cannot be selected.
The flights to/from Stuttgart (closest airport) or Zürich airport are not included in the price. You can easily find a suitable flight via a flight booking engine such as Momondo or Skyscanner.

From the airport to the hotel:

From Zurich airport, we can arrange an airport transfer for you - both on arrival and departure. This is optional on the booking form where you will also see the price.
On this tour you will be accommodated in 3-star hotels, inns, and a basic inn on a mountain, with breakfast included.
In the itinerary you can see some examples of the hotels we use on this tour. Notice that the hotels are examples and you may end up staying in different hotels. It depends on availability when you book the tour.
Breakfast is included every day. It is easy to find lunch in the small villages before the walks and you will have plenty of choices for dinner in the many restaurants.
Luggage transfer is included on this tour. Upon arrival at the first hotel you will be given luggage tags along with the rest of the welcome package. You fill out the luggage tags and put them on your bags where they will remain for the duration of the tour.
Your luggage is picked up from the hotel lobby around 9am every morning and will arrive at your next hotel at 6pm at the latest (often long before that). If there are any special exceptions to the luggage transfer you will be notified upon arrival.
Luggage transfer includes one bag per guest and the bags can weigh 20kg each.

Easy hiking on reasonably good trails. The day walks will last 4-6 hours in hilly terrain. Anyone in good physical condition can participate. Your luggage will be transported and you only carry a light daypack. Requires comfortable footwear such as trekking shoes or hiking boots.

You'll receive the welcome pack, which contains everything you need for the trip. There will be route descriptions, maps, luggage tags and specific local vouchers. The documents are in English.
We recommend taking out travel insurance that covers at least illness, accident, repatriation, lost holiday, luggage and liability. As a customer, you are responsible for taking out the necessary travel insurance to cover these costs.
